The Clerk’s Office for the Denver Probate Court is currently accepting walk-in customers for filing of all matters between the hours of 9am - 4pm.   Between the hours of 8 - 9am, call 303-606-2498 for immediate filing of Emergency Matters. 

The Denver Probate Pro Se Resource Center is closed until further notice. Self-Help resources are available by telephone at (303) 606-2502.  We will do our best to return your call within two business days. If you need a quicker response, please email: DPCSelfHelp@judicial.state.co.us.  Customers may also receive in-person assistance in the Clerk’s Office, Room 230.  Pursuant to the Joint Order Requiring Face Coverings in Court Facilities, all those entering any court facilities are required to wear a face covering. 

The Clerk’s Office continues to accept filings by U.S. MAIL or electronic filing (efiling) through counsel, and customers are encouraged to file by U.S. Mail or efiling.

If you are ill or have a fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat, muscle aches, headache and fatigue or have any other respiratory illness symptoms DO NOT come to the court in person. Extreme Risk Protection Orders

Provides procedural and general probate information to parties without attorneys.  Probate matters include wills, trusts, guardianships, and conservatorships.

Denver Probate Court Pro Se Clinics:

Local attorneys present an overview of the duties and responsibilities of a personal representative each month.  The attorneys also provide practical tips for completing those responsibilities, including how to set up an estate account, change title to real estate, notify and work with creditors, and work with beneficiaries.

Denver Probate Court protective proceedings monitors present an overview of the fiduciary duty of a guardian/conservator and help prepare you for the filing of your annual guardian and conservator reports.  This class is recommended for all new guardians and conservators, people considering petitioning the court to be appointed as a guardian or conservator, or appointed guardians and conservators who have difficulty completing their reports each year.

When:  Third Friday of each month; 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.  Sessions are currently cancelled.  Please check this website for future updates.**

The "Meet With An Attorney For Free" clinic for parties without attorneys is available by phone on a first-come, first-served basis.

Parties who are not represented by counsel can meet by telephone with an attorney to discuss their elder law or probate matter on a first-come, first-served non-confidential basis.  Topics may include trusts, estates, wills, guardianships, conservatorships, and powers of attorney.  This is intended to be a one-time informational session with an attorney and does not constitute an attorney-client relationship; parties with complex issues may want to engage the long-term services of an attorney.  Because the "Meet With An Attorney For Free" clinic for parties without attorneys is offered by telephone only, document review by the volunteer attorney is not available at this time.

When:  Every Monday and Wednesday by telephone only from 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. (closed on state holidays).  Clinics are subject to the availability of volunteers; cancellations will be posted on this website.

Where: By telephone.  Contact the Self Help Center at (303) 606-2502 on clinic days, prior to or during clinic hours, to sign up for a 15 minute slot, subject to volunteer availability.

How:  People without attorneys that wish to participate in the "Meet With An Attorney For Free" Clinic should fill out this form and email it to dpcselfhelp@judicial.state.co.us, or may provide their information to the Self Help Center over the telephone before meeting with the volunteer attorney.  Because the "Meet With An Attorney For Free" clinic for parties without attorneys is by telephone only, document review by the volunteer attorney is not available at this time.

• Learn about what Powers of Attorney and Living Wills are and the benefits of completing them.

• Learn how to choose someone to make medical and financial decisions for you in case you are ever unable to do so in the future.

STEP TWO: INCOME QUALIFYING  INDIVIDUALS MAY STAY FOR THE 2:00 PM WORKSHOP

Volunteer attorneys will help income qualifying individuals complete powers of attorney and living wills.

You must be financially eligible for free legal services to receive help at this part of the clinic. You will be asked to complete a form to check your financial eligibility, so come early.

• Applicants will be seen on a first come first served basis.
